Wishes are endless. So are our needs and aspirations. I had no idea what i wanted to become except for being a Painter. For one thing i had always dreamt or say aspired for was to paint, my whole life. Where ever i went outside my home i used to always (always means always) carry this small sized Lotus drawing book, a natraj pencil and an natraj eraser. And then when ever i was at home the only thing i used to do is sketch and paint. Mum tells, when i was 2 and 3 years old,i used to scribble with the much loved wax and oil crayons all day long. She says that it wasn't a favourite past time for me but instead it use to look as if it was my profession.
I do not remember studying and mugging up but i very well remember attending my painting classes and drawing the whole day, specially the whole of Sundays. I am talking about when i was in the age group of 4-14. I scribbled, drew and painted all day. I had no clue if there was any other work to do in this world! I lived in my own painted world. Many a times i would even forget that i had being badly feeling hungry for hours and my mum had been calling me for lunch.
I still can recall many glimpses of my childhood. I remember when i was 4, going with my father to his office and sitting besides him, drawing the all the time, while his clients discussing something relating digits and accounts across the same table.
And then i can recall this family vacation trip to Himachal and i trying drawing something. I was 8 then. I was very fascinated with the hills, mountains and the greenery i could witness on our way in the car. I remember wanting to draw the scenery exactly what was seen through the window. But the moment i drew a line that scenery vanished and another different scene would came. But then that was but obvious. Not for a 8 year old though.
And then i remember a summery sunny Sunday, sitting in my study room with the lovely cold air of the cooler on my face and drawing colourful cartoon characters, the Lauren and Hardy and the Richie rich. The best thing was that i had drawn, painted and made a cut out and stuck them on a cardboard with small magnets at its back. I placed them on the fridge. They was very much appreciated by everyone at home. That feeling of being acknowledged is still very much fresh in me. It makes me feel proud of myself.
I took my skills a little further and started to glass paint. I wished to make hundreds of painting and sell. Have an exhibition. Though i gifted many.
Things, at times, don't work the way we want or actually i must say we at times don't know how to make them work! The serious academics came in and my love for painting, drawing, sketching all diminished. Inside i always craved to leave everything and get back to my love.
And then the time came to decide what i wanted to do in my life. The very known and infuriating question for every teenager. What they wanted to be? I wanted to be a painter. Do nothing but Paint. I had decided, or may be not.
Years later, I again arose and decided to paint. I have now started to do what i always wanted to. Canvas !! Paint on the canvas. A painter's better-half.
Today, i am a happily content and enthusiastic Law student who still wishes to leave everything for its Love.
